PATHWAY 2 via the University of York St John

 

Ordinands training via the York St John University Foundation Degree finish their degree in the first year after ordination.  An Honours degree may be undertaken with a further three years of study.

Foundation or Honours Degree in Theology and Ministry,
taught by Yorkshire Regional Training Partnership and York St John University,
Saturdays study days (6 per year), weekday evenings and private study,
over four years (one year prior to and three years following ordination)

Indicative Programme:
Three Level 2 Modules (Foundation; 60 + 180 credits from IME 1-3)
Six Level 3 Modules (Honours; 120 + 240 credits from IME 1-4)

 

Year 1 (IME 4)

 

For students completing a Foundation Degree

 

Either ‘Working with Children and Young People’

(level 2: 20 credits)

or ‘Pastoral Care’ (level 2: 20 credits)

‘Ordained Ministry: Audit and Reflection’ (level 2: 20 credits)

‘Independent Study Unit’ (level 2: 20 credits)

 

 

 

Year 2 (IME 5)

 

For students completing an Honours Degree

 

Two Level 3 Modules (20 credits each) from the YStJ ‘Theology and Ministry’ programme, one of which will be

either ‘Church in Local Context’ (level 3: 20 credits)

or ‘Leadership and Change in the Church’ (level 3: 20 credits)

(shared learning with Leeds students)

 

 

 

Year 3 (IME 6)

 

Two Level 3 Modules (20 credits each) from the YStJ ‘Theology and Ministry’ programme, one of which will be

either ‘Leadership and Change in the Church’

(level3: 20 credits)

or Church in Local Context’ (level 3: 20 credits)

(shared learning with Leeds students)

 

 

 

Year 4 (IME 7)

 

Two Level 3 Modules (20 credits each) from the YStJ
