Who is it for?
Many of the students enrolling with YMC are mature candidates (30 years or older) undertaking programmes or learning, training and formation in preparation for ordained ministry. They will have been recommended by their sponsoring churches and it will have been decided that they should remain in their current employment and home church situation.
Other students will already be ordained and have enrolled on a postgraduate programme of vocational learning, in the process of fulfilling their diocesan provision for IME 4-7 or undertaking further CME. (Readers and more experienced ministers)
Still others, again, will be independent candidates who have decided to deepen their understanding and experience of the Christian life and of the ministry offered by the contemporary church. (Education for discipleship)
“I have really appreciated the diversity of the people who are drawn to the course – socially, theologically and church tradition – which leads to great conversations and interesting debates.”
