The full time contextual route is a nationally available pathway catering for those who are intending to train full-time and would benefit from being placed in a pioneering context. It is suitable for the following:-
- Candidates sponsored with the expectation that they will hold incumbent status;
- Candidates yet to experience a pioneering context;
- Candidates already based in an appropriate context for training in the Yorkshire region and who would prefer full-time training rather than part-time or mixed mode.
This pathway is not only for those selected for Ordained Pioneer Ministry, but for all those who would benefit from an experience of outwardly focused patterns of ministry. This would include experience of pioneering contexts under the supervision of current practitioners working at the cutting edge of ministry.
Candidates will be training on either a two-year BA/MA or a three-year BA/MA route (depending on age and experience), all with the University of Sheffield. They will join YMC students for residential week-ends and the annual Easter School.
In Pioneering in Practice sessions, candidates will benefit from regular group reflection and development, with input from experienced practitioners or exploration of case studies.
Weekly teaching is held at the various YMC teaching centres around Yorkshire (depending on location and degree route followed) and on the University of Sheffield campus.
